SMALL GROUP FITNESS PROGRAMS

Small group fitness programs are a great way to stay motivated while reaching your goals. These affordable program options combine the camaraderie of a small group setting with the expertise of highly trained instructors.

Intro to Barbell Lifting

Barbell training is a great way to increase total-body strength, build bone density and muscle, and increase athletic performance. Join a certified trainer for a six-week class that will increase your strength and confidence in the squat, bench press and deadlift. Each class will consist of instructional and practical segments, so you will receive all the hands-on coaching needed to apply it in real time.

Registration available to: McGaw Y Members / Community

Age: 18 years+
Dates: April 5 - May 10, 2025
Day/Time: Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.

Cost: McGaw Y Members: FREE!
Community Participants: $90/class

Members registering must be able to attend at least 5 of the 6 sessions.

Intro to Fitness Center Workshops

Get to know the Y's cardio machines, strength machines, and free weights! Receive expert advice on how to use the Fitness Center. Learn function, technique, and exercise principles in these specialized workshops designed for beginners and new fitness enthusiasts.

Women on Weights

When it comes to strength training, the goal is to work smarter and harder. Doing so not only saves time but also improves the efficiency and effectiveness of your workout while minimizing injuries. If you have ever wondered “I am doing this right?” or “How can I get more from my work out?” then this class is for you. You will learn proper form and technique of foundational movements as well as how to fuel and extend your workout through efficient breathing. You have committed to the time, now use it judiciously to reach a new level of strength, fitness and well-being.

Dates: April 2 - May 9, 2025
Days/Times: Tuesdays, 9:00-9:50 a.m. or Thursdays 6:30-7:20 p.m., and Fridays 9:00-9:50 a.m.
