YMCA Tiny Tot Basketball (Ages 4-6)

Did you know? The Y invented basketball in 1891 and serves over 1 million youth sports participants annually. Our sports programs emphasize fun, safety and positive, equal play. Experienced instructors introduce children to the game of basketball using an age-appropriate curriculum with activities and games designed to increase physical, cognitive and social/emotional development including balance, body awareness, hand-eye coordination and listening skills. Experience the Y Sports difference where we emphasize each participant's time with the ball, high repetitions and inclusive activities. Each session will include a warm-up, character topic, designated skill focus and fun skills application game. Tiny Tot Basketball is the perfect introduction to organized sports play.

YMCA Tiny Tot Creative Dance (Ages 3-5)

Move and groove into this great first introduction to dance in a fun, safe environment where every child can have a positive experience and foster the love of movement. Children will learn fundamental dance steps through games, interactive songs and imaginative activities. Learn, laugh and explore while improving coordination, gross motor skills, spatial awareness, rhythm and listening skills in a structured setting. Professional dancer Perry Denton sets "fun" as the foundation for a lifelong appreciation for dance and the arts.

YMCA Preschool Tiny Tot Sports Club (Ages 3-5)

Introducing our new feature program! YMCA Tiny Tot Sports Club adopts a monthly draft design to combine convenience and variety for a sports experience your whole family enjoys. Parents, benefit from a set schedule and routine. Simply choose a sports club time and lock it into your calendar for the year. No more adjusting schedules "every eight weeks" or "session." Preschoolers, get your game on by developing skills across multiple sports with a new sport in focus each month. YMCA Tiny Tot Sports Club is the perfect platform to explore interests, make friends, and develop confidence and skills in our progressive Tiny Tot programming led by seasoned adult role models. Join us as we play our favorite sport - all of them!

YMCA Tiny Tot Tumbling (Ages 3-5)

Flex your skills as you tumble, flip and roll into our newest program offering for energetic youth. This foundational class combines direct instruction and circuit work to promote skill development, individual attention, and constant motion and engagement throughout the class. Children will improve balance, coordination, strength and social skills through a progressive curriculum designed to build an athletic foundation from an early age.

Y Sports programs place priority on skill development, healthy competition, team building, fair play and creating a positive self-image. YMCA Basketball Skills Academy Beginner or Intermediate Divisions (Grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5)

The McGaw YMCA Basketball Skills Academy helps youth learn and hone fundamentals to feel confident in game play. Each session will include a warm-up, character topic, designated skill focus, tactical development and integration of the session's lessons into game play. The skills academies are led by seasoned adult instructors utilizing the Jr. NBA instructional curriculum. Beginner Academy is designed for youth with less than one year of basketball experience. Intermediate Academy is designed for youth with more than one year of basketball experience.

This high-energy class has it all - combining various dance styles and techniques through showmanship and choreographed routines inside your tight-knit "squad" community. Incorporate jazz, hip-hop, pom and sideline cheerleading as you jump, turn and kick in a synchronized, spirited format emphasizing teamwork and self-confidence. Session will conclude with a group performance. Hip-Hop Dance

YMCA Hip Hop Dance (Ages 6-10)

Step outside the box in this fun, inventive style done to popular music. Learn a series of energetic hip-hop steps while allowing your creativity and personality to shine through basic technique, tricks and routines in this fast-paced dance class popular for all genders. Improve rhythm, coordination, strength and conditioning. Always a youth favorite in imitating the moves of media celebrities, hip-hop is a huge hit for youth who do not like to be held back with too many rules. Intro to Pickleball Clinics

Fun and fundamentals are found here! Learn how to play pickleball, the fastest growing sport in America. The introductory clinic will teach equipment, rules, court positioning, serving, dinking and basic shot technique and strategy. The clinic features drills and ends in coached game play with an experienced YMCA Pickleball Ambassador. After class, your instructor will suggest other pickleball programs to try and ways to stay involved. Come curious, leave confident in your ability to connect with this new hobby. All equipment is provided.

Specialized Pickleball Clinics

Power up your game with these specialized pickleball clinics suitable for advanced beginners and intermediate players. Dig into strategy, tips and tricks that are not found in mainstream clinic instruction. These one-off clinics feature a unique, fun focus such as "all about spin," "how to beat bangers," advanced shots, court positioning and more. Qualified instructors lead skill drills followed by the opportunity to practice implementation through coached game play. Limited space to ensure program quality!

Pickleball Leagues

Pickleball Leagues

Build skills and community in the McGaw YMCA Pickleball Ladder League. The ladder league is structured for 5 players per group, allowing each group to play 4 games to 11 win by 1 every week. Ranking system supports play with others of similar skill levels and ensures every match is meaningful in a fun, recreationally-competitive environment with fellow McGaw YMCA and community members. Individual registration and doubles play with a new partner every game. Scores are submitted in DUPR rating system.
